James Alexander

James Alexander was a veteran who served in the 127th United States Colored Infantry with Company I. It is not confirmed whether this individual's name was strictly "James Alexander" or "James H. Alexander"; census records and archival material use either name. He was born around 1843 in Franklin County, Pennsylvania to parents, Cale and Amelia (unconfirmed) Alexander.1 The "U.S. Find A Grave Index, 1600s to Current for James Henry Alexander" claims his mother, Amelia, was born in Virginia, and his father was born in Maryland.2

Eli Anderson

Eli Anderson was born on November 27, 1838, in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. His mother, Catharine Woods, was born in Cumberland County, his father, whose name is unknown, was born in Virginia.1 He enlisted in Company I of the 10th U.S.C.T.

William Anderson

William Anderson served with the U.S.C.T. in the 54th Massachusetts Infantry. He was born around 1843 or 1845, in Xenia, Ohio. The 1850 Federal Census recorded him living in Xenia, with his mother Matilda, and his siblings Mary, John, Mack, Nancy, and Alice.1 In 1860, the Federal Census listed him as being fifteen years old, and still living with his mother and three of his siblings, M (Mack), Nancy, and Alice.

John Arnold

 John Arnold served in the 41st U.S. Colored Troops with Company D from September 19, 1864 to September 30, 1865. He was born in Charleston County, South Carolina on November 25, 1835.According to his 1910 Census, his parents were both born in South Carolina, but the census does not state their names.2 There is no census detailing his life and occupation before his enlistment, but his "U.S.

Ransome E. Babcock

Ransome Babcock served in Company B of the 21st U.S.C.T. Regiment, in New York. His date of birth and his life before his enlistment is unknown, but he was discharged on November 14, 1865, due to the end of the Civil War.1 He passed away in Monroe Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, in 1894, and is buried in Lincoln Cemetery, in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.2

James L. Bailey

James L. Bailey served in the 32nd United States Colored Regiment with Company G from February 23, 1864 to August 22, 1865. He was born around 1825 in Franklin County, Pennsylvania.1 During his childhood, he presumably worked for and was owned by Alexander McDowell in Franklin County, Pennsylvania.2 There is no current information detailing James' early life before the civil war. John A. Barnet

John A. Barnet served in the 3rd U.S.C.T with Company B from December 23, 1864, to October 31, 1865. He was born in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania on May 20, 1845, to parents John J. Barnett and Mary Cook.1 According to the 1860 Census, before his enlistment he was living with the family of Alexander and Eunice Stewart, in Shippensburg.

John Henry Barton

John Henry Barton was born in 1846 in Maryland to John and Ann Barton.[1] By the age of 12, he worked as a laborer for the Todd Family in Creagerstown, Frederick, Maryland.[2] Then under the Enrollment Act of 1863, he enlisted on November 1, 1864, as a substitute for Andrew Bostater.[3] [4] Barton served a one-year term being discharged as a private on November 15, 1865, at Indianola, TX.
