Walt Huber was an acclaimed cartoonist for several newspapers, who was born in Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania. While never achieving his dream of having his own comic strip, Huber, was one of the founders of the Seven Lively Artists. The group was described by the Harrisburg Public Library in an exhibit entitled “Today’s Painters”[1] as a group of “seven men [who] are all graphic artists who paint together on the weekends.” Five paintings of Huber’s were displayed at the exhibit including: 1. Two Little of Cabooses (oil). 2. York County Hills (oil). 3. Autumn in the County. 4. The Old Tree (oil). 5. The Two Sisters (oil).[2]

Huber turned his summer home near Lewisberry into a retreat for local artists for twenty-three years.[3]
