John D. Berry

John D. Berry served in the 5th Massachusetts Cavalry from January 11, 1864 to December 9, 1864. He was born in about 1822 in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Alfred Bolden

Alfred Bolden was a soldier in the 43rd United States Colored Troops with Company C. He was born around 1828 in Maryland and worked as a laborer before he enlisted.1 At age 33, he enlisted in the 43rd U.S. Colored Troops in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as a private.2 During his military service he wounded himself. Thomas Brannan

Thomas Brannan served in Company H of the 22nd U.S.C.T. He was born in Shenandoah, Virginia, around 1845 or 1848. He enlisted by Captain Eyster, as a private in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, on December 28, 1863. According to his company descriptive book, he was eighteen years old, 5 feet and 7 inches tall, with black hair, eyes, and complexion, and was working as a farmer at the time.

William Bridges served as a Private in Company G in the 22 Regiment of the United States Colored Troops from December 30th, 1863 to May 24th, 1865.[1] Bridges was born around 1837, however no census records exists to verify his exact birthday, place of birth or family history.

William Bridges

William Bridges fought in Company G of the 22nd U.S.C.T. He was born around 1837. While he was married before he joined the military, there is no record of his wedding or wife, and nothing else is known about his life before joining the U.S.C.T. He enlisted as a private on December 30, 1863, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and was mustered out on the same date. According to his military records he was born in Lancaster or Carlisle, he was five feet and seven inches tall, and had a light copper complexion, with brown eyes and hair. He was about 26 years old at the time.

He was born on July 4, 1843 in Edington, North Carolina to unknown parents.1 The "1850 United States Federal Census for Edward Brown" shows Edward Brown at age seven living in Cape Fear North East Side, Bladden, North Carolina.2 This record also shows that he was attending school and living with three other children - Mary C Brown (10 years old), James Brown (7 years old), and Margaret A Brown (2 years old).3 A paper titled, "Mary E.
