William Bridges

William Bridges fought in Company G of the 22nd U.S.C.T. He was born around 1837. While he was married before he joined the military, there is no record of his wedding or wife, and nothing else is known about his life before joining the U.S.C.T. He enlisted as a private on December 30, 1863, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and was mustered out on the same date. According to his military records he was born in Lancaster or Carlisle, he was five feet and seven inches tall, and had a light copper complexion, with brown eyes and hair. He was about 26 years old at the time.

Edward Brown

Edward Brown served in the 6th United States Colored Troops with Company H, from August 21, 1863 to December 15, 1864. He was born on July 4, 1843 in Edington, North Carolina to unknown parents.1 The "1850 United States Federal Census for Edward Brown" shows Edward Brown at age seven living in Cape Fear North East Side, Bladden, North Carolina.2 This record also shows that he was attending school and living with three other children - Mary C Brown (10 years old), James Brown (7 years old), and Margaret A Brown (2 years old).3 A paper titled, "Mary E.

David Butler

David Butler was born in Welsh Run, Pennsylvania on July 4,1834 to John and Elizabeth Butler - both born in Marlyland, USA.1 Butler spent his early life as a farmer, but in 1863, he joined the United States Colored Troops, enlisting in the 54th Massachusetts Infantry.

Elliott Butler

Elliott Butler served in the 127th U.S.C.T., in Company A. He was born around 1835, in Franklin County, Pennsylvania.1 In 1860, he was living in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, with his wife Susan, and his children Ann and John. The census lists him as a laborer, but the description in his military records states that he is a lime burner.2 He enlisted on August 23, 1864, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, into Company A of the 127th U.S.C.T., at twenty-eight years old. His records describe him as six feet tall, with black hair and eyes.

John Carter

John Carter served in the 127th regiment with Company I. He was born in about 1844 (unknown birthplace) to unknown parents.1 There are no census records, military records, pension records, or death certificate records for him. However, there is a death certificate record for his mother, Katherine Henson Carter, and a tombstone photograph for John Carter.

William Cephas served in the 55th Massachusetts Infantry with Company D from May 23, 1864 to August 29, 1865. Robert Chargo

Robert Chargo served in Company A of the 8th U.S.C.T. He was born around 1833 in Virginia, to his father Harry Charger and his mother Matilda Castain.1 Nothing else is known about his life before the military. According to his obituary, he was originally a part of the Confederate army, and then deserted to enlist in the Union. He enlisted in June of 1863, and was discharged in December of 1866, as a Lieutenant.
