lndividuals in history are often well known, mostly because of the attention they receive for their accomplishments. However, it is not uncommon for an individual in history to be forgotten when the history textbooks are written. Attempts to break world records happen every day, but the public rarely hears of the attempt, unless it is successful. In the same light, the circumstances affecting political elections are often forgotten.

Rosemarie Peiffer – Nurse, County Commissioner

Rosemarie C. Peiffer was born in an area of Mauch Chunk, Pennsylvania, later known as Nesquehoning, in 1936. Raised on a farm in Schuylkill County, Rosemarie graduated from Reading Hospital and School of Medicine with her Registered Nurse degree in 1956. She married in that same year and moved to Baltimore with her husband, Howard, where they lived until 1964 before returning to Pennsylvania.

George N. Wade, longtime State Senator representing Pennsylvania’s 31st district, was born on August 13, 1893 in Washington, Pennsylvania.1 One of 9 children, Wade started work in the oil and coal industry at sixteen years of age.

Kirk Wilson discusses a number of aspects of his life including being a member of the Carlisle High School Band, joining the Carlisle Fire Police and Friendship Fire Company, and his experience as the mayor of Carlisle. Wilson also discusses the fire appratus of the Friendship Fire Company, fires during his experience in the 1970s and 1980s including the South Pomfret Street Apartment Fire, the Cumberland Valley Savings and Loan Fire, and others.
